Adidas AG (German: [ˈʔadiˌdas]; adapted as adidas since 1949[3]) is a German global organization, established and settled in Herzogenaurach, Germany, that plans and produces shoes, apparel and extras. It is the biggest active apparel producer in Europe, and the second biggest on the planet, after Nike.[4][5] It is the holding organization for the Adidas Group, which comprises of the Reebok athletic apparel organization, 8.33% of the German football club Bayern München, and Runtastic, an Austrian wellness innovation organization. Adidas' income for 2018 was recorded at €21.915 billion.[2]

The organization was begun by Adolf Dassler in his mom's home; he was joined by his senior sibling Rudolf in 1924 under the name Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik ("Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory"). Dassler aided the improvement of spiked running shoes (spikes) for various athletic occasions. To upgrade the nature of spiked athletic footwear, he progressed from a past model of substantial metal spikes to using material and elastic. Dassler convinced U.S. runner Jesse Owens to utilize his handcrafted spikes at the 1936 Summer Olympics. In 1949, following a breakdown in the connection between the siblings, Adolf made Adidas, and Rudolf set up Puma, which turned into Adidas' business rival.[1]

The three stripes are Adidas' character mark, having been utilized on the organization's clothing and shoe plans as a showcasing help. The marking, which Adidas purchased in 1952 from Finnish games organization Karhu Sports for what might be compared to 1,600 euros and two containers of whiskey,[6][7] turned out to be fruitful to the point that Dassler portrayed Adidas as "The three stripes company".[8][6][9]
